the Map apprenticeship

In 2018 I began offering apprenticeships in the Map chocolatory as a way to give back: Map would not exist if not for the advice + insights shared with me by fellow makers and chocolate pros, and I am thankful. if anything, craft chocolate stands apart from industrial Big Chocolate because of two continuing ideas: #cacaolove and #chocolatecommunity. I’m thrilled to be able to do my part as a small-batch maker to keep these traditions alive.

In 2019 I’m happy to be offering two ways to apprentice: the in-depth, dive-in-and-learn-everything Apprenticeship which requires a 2-week commitment {it can coincide with a Map class, date-wise on either side of the class}, and a new Mini Mapprenticeship, which lasts for 2 days and ideally will coincide with a Map class.

Both apprenticeship options include: 100% hands-on chocolate making, washing dishes, polishing moulds, eating chocolate, and working by my side. Bring every and all questions, a sturdy apron, and a sense of humor. These are apprenticeships, so no pay is included. Lodging, travel to-and-from Eugene, transportation while here are also not included {we have a lot of airbnb options, lyft, a user-friendly bike + bus system, etc}.

If you’d like to apply for either, please fill out the form, make sure to mention which you’re interested in, and I’ll be in touch.
